Overview
ObbyDesk publishes guides, codes and lists for popular Roblox games. Many of our readers are kids and teens, so the site is built to collect as little as possible. Short version: no accounts, no comments, no newsletter, no ads, and nothing that asks you who you are.
What we collect
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 only to count page views: which pages are read, the site that sent you, your device type and approximate country. It loads only if you click Accept on the cookie banner. Until then no analytics script is downloaded, nothing is sent to Google and no analytics cookie is set. Google Consent Mode starts with everything denied; Accept allows analytics storage only. Advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation stay denied even after Accept, Google signals and ad personalisation signals are off, and we never send your name, email, username or any user ID. Analytics uses a random ID stored in a cookie, so we see totals, not people. You can turn it off again at any time with the button in the Cookies section below.
“Was this helpful?” votes. Some guides have a helpful / not helpful button. We store the vote count per article. To stop repeat votes, we keep a one-way hash of your IP address for about an hour, then it expires. We cannot turn the hash back into your IP address.
Things saved in your browser. Your theme choice (light or dark), the articles you save, the articles you have opened and your cookie banner choice are stored in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device and we never see them. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Server logs. Like every website, our web server and our network provider (Cloudflare) see your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for when you load a page. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure.
Email. If you email us at contact@obbydesk.com or admin@obbydesk.com, we keep your message and address only to reply. We never add you to a list or share your address.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
ObbyDesk is a general-audience site that many kids read. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, as defined by the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. There are no accounts, comments, sign-up forms or contests. We never ask readers for their name, email, Roblox username or age. There are no ads, and if ads are ever added they will be non-personalised only. Analytics stays off unless someone on the device clicks Accept, and even then it only counts page views: no advertising features, no Google signals and no personalised ads.
If you are a parent and think your child sent us personal information (for example in an email), write to admin@obbydesk.com and we will delete it.
Cookies
The only cookies we set are Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>), and only after you click Accept. If you click Decline, or ignore the banner, none are set. We never use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. To withdraw your consent, use the button below: it switches analytics off and deletes the Google Analytics cookies on this browser.
Ads and affiliate links
ObbyDesk shows no ads and has no affiliate links or sponsors. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first, and any ads will be non-personalised only. See kids and privacy on the about page.
Embeds and links to other sites
An article may embed a YouTube video or a Reddit post from a game's community. Those embeds load from YouTube or Reddit, which can set their own cookies when you play or interact with them (see Google's privacy policy and Reddit's privacy policy). Links to Roblox, game developers and other sites follow those sites' own policies.
Selling and sharing
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not sell anything on this site, so we hold no payment details.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you (usually nothing), ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email admin@obbydesk.com.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live.
