So pick a moment when no Twisted is close before you start one.
Collect research. The description tells you to "collect Research on what lurks below". On the fan wiki, "Research is collected by encountering Twisteds and picking up Research Capsules on the floor", and "When you obtain 100% research on a Twisted, you will earn their Trinket."
Take the right elevator. The wiki says every floor has two large elevators, but one "will be covered by yellow tape" with a "DO NOT ENTER" sign and does not work. Head for the other one once the machines are done.

What to expect on each floor
The fan wiki's Floors page gives a rule of thumb for what a floor holds: "Every Floor will have Items, at least 4 Research Capsules, at least 4 Machines, and at least 2 Twisteds." Its Machines page is less strict, saying early floors have 2, 3 or 4 machines depending on the player count, so expect fewer in a small group. Floors are not hand-built for each run. The wiki says the game picks one of several preset layouts "depending on how many Toons are alive and the current Floor number."

- Blackouts. From floor 3 there is a small chance of a blackout floor, which the wiki puts at 0 to 5% at first, rising on later floors.
- Ichor leaks. Puddles of Ichor slow you down and give you the Illness III debuff "when stepping on the ichor puddle."

The monsters are the Twisteds. The fan wiki says "Twisteds are the main antagonists of Dandy's World. They are corrupted versions of Toons, disfigured by Ichor." Since every Toon has a Twisted version, learning one character tells you something about the other.

The Halloween listing says "The Halloween Event returns with some new tricks and treats!" The Golden Skin Quests listing also promises "New Halloween Toon Dialogue!" and says the official Dandy's World song "Queens of Mischief" "releases on October 17th!" The Gourdy Shop listing adds that a "Soulvester Calendar Reward skin" is "claimable starting October 18th!" Those last two dates had not arrived when we checked, so this is what the listings promise, not what is in the game yet. The skin quests are not quick. On the day we checked, one player on the game's subreddit warned: "The golden skins challenges will make you sick of playing them, but once it dies down and you have them you have BRAGGING rights lol" (u/DragonFruitGamer, Oct 10, 2026). As a beginner, learn the basics first; the quests are for players who already know their Toon.
Safety. Roblox rates the game Mild. The developer adds two warnings in the description: the game "may include bright/flashing lights and may affect photosensitive users", and since it is "still in Alpha", players should "expect bugs and shutdowns!" Bugs go to "the BlushCrunch Studio Server", the developer says.

Based on the developer's description and Roblox's labels, Dandy's World is a good pick for a group that wants a team horror game, with one caveat: it is jumpier than its cartoon look suggests, and Roblox's Mild label lists repeated fear. For a first run, stick with your team, do machines only when no Twisted is near, and leave the details of Toon stats and Trinkets for later. Treat fan wiki numbers as a guide, because the game is on version 0.29.7 and some wiki pages describe older builds.
