Animal Hospital Roblox Guide: Patients, Anomalies and Sanity

TL;DR: Check patients in, scan them, give the right treatment, and reject the anomalies. Wrong treatment kills the patient and costs one of your three lives. If your sanity hits 0, you die. The first four shifts are tutorials. When we checked on October 24, the Halloween listing ran from October 17 to November 14, 2026. Roblox rates it Minimal with mild fear. No codes on the developer's Roblox pages.

This Animal Hospital Roblox guide covers how a shift works, how to treat patients without losing lives, how to spot anomalies, and how sanity and classes work. Animal Hospital (Anomaly) was 33rd on Roblox's Top Playing Now list when ObbyDesk's tracker read it at 07:02 UTC on October 11, 2026, with 40,637 players.

Key Takeaways

  • The pitch: "You got hired to work the night shift at Animal Hospital, its now your job to treat the patients."
  • Lives (fan wiki): three per run; a wrong treatment costs one.
  • Sanity (fan wiki): at 0 you die.
  • Halloween: the developer's "Halloween!" listing, read on October 24, runs October 17 to November 14, 2026, and a short "Halloween - Part 2" listing is set for October 31.
  • Age label: Minimal, with light unrealistic blood and occasional mild fear. Codes: none on Roblox as of October 24, 2026.

Overview: what Animal Hospital is

Animal Anomaly, a verified Roblox group with 2,036,797 members, made Animal Hospital on May 10, 2026. Roblox files it under Survival, and servers hold 30 players. It had 2,460,638,321 visits and 3,199,314 favorites when we read Roblox's API on October 24, 2026, and its last update was on October 21, 2026.

The whole description is two lines: "You got hired to work the night shift at Animal Hospital, its now your job to treat the patients." and "but some patients are acting weird...". The fan wiki fills in the rest: you and "up to four other players" "work at a hospital for anthropomorphic animals", and the main job is "checking in patients, scanning them for health conditions, and providing the correct treatments while detecting and avoiding anomalies."

Analysis: how a shift in Animal Hospital works

Shifts. Per the fan wiki, "A shift is counted as complete when the number of patients designated in the Reception Office monitor have all been checked in and treated." It adds that "The first four Shifts are tutorials for various game Mechanics." In the first shift, "Patient one will always have a stomach ache, requiring herbs. Patient two will always have Dried Eyes, requiring eye drops."

Treating patients. The wiki's Treatment page says "After running diagnostics for a patient, the computer will show the patient's illnesses." Get it right: "Giving the patient the wrong treatment will cause the patient's death, punishing the player by losing one of their three lives in their run." By default "you can carry three treatments at a time".

Anomalies. "Rejecting anomalies from the hospital is one of the main objectives of the game," says the wiki. Anomalies count as patients, so checking one in still lowers the count on the monitor. Some can only be caught on film: "Photo anomalies can only be detected if a player takes a photo of the patient at the window with the camera." And be patient with the photo, because picking it up "before it fully develops" costs "10 sanity points".

Sanity. The fan wiki says "if your sanity is dropped completely to 0, you die." The Items page lists the trade-offs: "If you tase a normal patient, you will lose 15 sanity and they will run away. If you tase an anomaly, you will gain 2 sanity." Coffee "grants 5% sanity each sip, and lasts three sips". Fires hurt too: "Getting too close to the fire causes the player to lose 1-3 Sanity per second."

Events. Per the wiki, "The Ambulance Event starts on Shift 4 and recurs every 5 shifts." When a patient faints, "the player has 60 seconds (or 40 seconds if they fainted from fire) to carry the patient to their designated room."

Money and classes. "Money is awarded at the end of each Shift" and buys items from the Supplies Shop. Animal Coins are the main currency, earned at "2 coins per patient treated" per the wiki. You start as the free Intern, and classes can be bought "for Animal Coins or Robux in the Lobby". The wiki notes "Some classes, like Secret Agent and Head Nurse, cost Robux."

Animal Hospital tips for your first shifts

  1. Do the tutorial shifts. The first four shifts teach the mechanics, and the first two patients are scripted, per the fan wiki.
  2. Scan before you treat. Diagnostics show the illness. A wrong guess costs a life.
  3. Take photos at the window. Some anomalies only show up on the camera.
  4. Do not tase on a hunch. A wrong tase costs 15 sanity; a right one gains 2.
  5. Keep coffee for low sanity. Three sips, 5% each.
  6. Know who only stares. The wiki says Ratthew "and Shopkeeper Nurse stare at the player this way, they are NOT an anomaly."
  7. Slime is not proof. One player's tip: "Normal Patients Can Drop Slime, Slime Does NOT Mean They're An Anomaly." (Reddit, Jul 12, 2026).

Players who like it point to friends and the later shifts: "i played it and its fun, especially when it gets harder in the later nights," wrote one (Reddit, Jul 11, 2026). Another said "it´s really funny with friends and makes some amazing moments" (Reddit, Jul 11).

Halloween, codes and safety

Halloween 2026. When we read it on October 24, the developer's event listing was titled "Halloween!" with the subtitle "Update!!", running from 18:00 UTC on October 17, 2026 (2 PM Eastern) to 17:00 UTC on November 14 (noon Eastern). On October 11 the same listing ended on November 1, so the developer has moved the end date. A second listing, "Halloween - Part 2", subtitled "more", now runs from 19:00 UTC to 20:09 UTC on October 31 (3 PM to 4:09 PM Eastern); the developer edited it on October 23, and before that it started on October 27. Its only text is the line "We are expanding our halloween update with more content and new frights!" Neither listing has a description. The fan wiki's update log (unofficial) says the October 17 update added a Halloween Event, a Halloween Coins currency, limited skins, new Journal achievements and Halloween decorations; it does not describe Part 2, so check the game's Events tab for anything posted since. The wiki also says "Updates are confirmed to happen bi-weekly on weekends." Separately, the game's Mimic is one of the nine monsters in Roblox's own The Hollow event, per Roblox's newsroom.

What the store sells. On October 24, 2026, Roblox's data showed no game passes and 38 developer products for sale, from 9 to 1,980 Robux. They include four coin packs ("Coins Small" 99 to "Coins Huge" 1,590), the "Secret Agent" (890) and "Head Nurse" (190) classes, revives (45 to 130), "Gun (20 Bullets)" (99), "Jumpscare ALL" (59), "Detect Skinwalker" (9), tier bundles, a "Premium Bundle" (1,980) and three Halloween packs ("Small Halloween" 99, "Medium Halloween" 199, "Large Halloween" 499).

Codes. We checked the game description and the Animal Anomaly group on October 11, 2026, on October 22 and again on October 24. None listed a code, and the group shout was empty. The block below stays empty until the developer posts one.

Safety. Roblox labels Animal Hospital Minimal, with "Blood (Light/Unrealistic)", "Fear (Occasional/Mild)" and "Violence (Occasional/Mild)". Roblox describes Minimal as content that "may contain occasional mild violence, light unrealistic blood, and/or occasional mild fear." The anomalies are built to startle, and players can tase or shoot. Roblox's Parental Controls let a parent "set a monthly spending limit on how much money your child can spend on Roblox". Our non-scary Halloween list left Animal Hospital out for its fear label.

Our take

Play Animal Hospital as a group that talks, and check the Fear label before a young child joins. It is a simple job game with a scare on top: check in, scan, treat, and keep the strange patients out. Per the fan wiki you get three lives per run and die at 0 sanity, so careful play matters more than speed. Roblox lists Fear and Blood descriptors, and the store sells "Gun (20 Bullets)" (99 Robux) and "Jumpscare ALL" (59) among its 38 products. If you want fewer scares, our best Roblox horror games list sorts 14 games from mild to scary by Roblox's labels.

How we checked this

We read the game's data, description, group, age label, event listing, game passes and developer products through a public mirror of Roblox's official APIs on October 11, 2026, and used ObbyDesk's reading of Roblox's Top Playing Now chart from 07:02 UTC that day. On Oct 18 we read the event listings again, and on Oct 22 the game data, group, age label, listings and store, plus every fan wiki and Reddit quote. At 02:25 UTC on Oct 24 we read the game data, group, age label, listings, store and the fan wiki once more; the Reddit quotes were not re-checked that day. Shifts, treatment, anomalies, sanity, items, money and classes come from the Animal Hospital fan wiki on Fandom, which is unofficial and marked as such. Reddit comments were read in a browser and re-checked through the Arctic Shift archive. We did not play the game for this guide. All 51 sources are in our source file.
