Jujutsu Shenanigans Beginner Guide: How M1s and Cash Work
TL;DR: Learn the 4-hit M1 chain and the dash out of a stun before you touch a character's skills, and earn cash from daily and weekly quests instead of hunting kills. Skip Early Access for now: 15 finished characters are free, and the fan wiki calls Hired Killer unfinished.

Jujutsu Shenanigans looks like chaos, and the first match usually is. This Jujutsu Shenanigans beginner guide covers the two things a new player needs first: your M1 chain and where cash comes from. The Halloween update made Hired Killer the headline, but the fan wiki says he needs the 345 Robux Early Access pass, so start with one of the free characters. Roblox labels the game Mild for blood and violence.
Checked Oct 29 (store, event and chart re-read at 07:08 UTC) from the game's Roblox page, Roblox's APIs and our chart tracker. Fan-wiki and guide-site details are marked.
What parents need to know:
- Roblox labels Jujutsu Shenanigans Mild, with "Blood (Heavy/Unrealistic)" and "Violence (Repeated/Mild)".
- The store has 5 passes from 115 to 345 Robux (the fan wiki says only Early Access changes fights) and 20 in-game products. Among them: random emotes and skins from 25 to 250 Robux, a 100 Robux random Victory Flash, and Halloween candy packs from 49 to 449 Robux. The other 8 are gift versions of the passes and extra emote pages or upload slots, from 50 to 300 Robux.
- Public servers hold up to 25 players. Roblox's Parental Controls let you "set a monthly spending limit on how much money your child can spend on Roblox".
Overview: what Jujutsu Shenanigans is
Jujutsu Shenanigans is a battlegrounds fighting game made by the Roblox group Tze's Shenanigans, which carries Roblox's verified badge and had 4,206,640 members on Oct 29. The group's whole description reads "a group for tze's games". The game page is just as short: "combat based off many battleground games" and "destruction inspired by combat mayhem". Its newest character, Hired Killer, is based on Toji Fushiguro from the anime Jujutsu Kaisen, per the fan wiki.
The game was created in April 2022 and had 7,803,136,364 visits when we checked. Its title on Roblox reads "[HIRED KILLER] Jujutsu Shenanigans". It was 12th on Roblox's Top Playing Now chart at 06:15 UTC on Oct 29, with 59,767 players, and still 12th at 07:08 UTC with 58,858. The 11 games above it are on our most played Roblox games right now list.
Desk note: From our tracker: the game peaked at 664,556 players at 22:00 UTC on Oct 23, half an hour after the Halloween update went live. It reached #3 on the chart that day. By the morning of Oct 29 it had about a tenth of that crowd, and it was still a top-12 game.

Step-by-Step: your first Jujutsu Shenanigans session
The game page lists seven controls. Everything else in this list comes from the fan wiki's Controls & Mechanics page, which is unofficial.
- Pick a free character. Open the characters list in the top-left corner. The fan wiki counts 29 known characters, and 15 of them are finished and "accessible for everyone". We found no beginner pick from the developer, so start with one you know from the anime.
- Learn the M1 chain. M1 is the left mouse button on PC. Hold or tap it for a 4-hit combo worth 14 damage (3 + 3 + 4 + 4), then a 2-second downtime, per the wiki. A blocked M1 leaves you open twice as long, so don't swing into a block.
- Change the fourth hit. The fourth hit knocks the enemy back if you stand still, launches them if you are jumping, and slams them down if you are falling. The wiki marks that downslam "Unblockable".
- Block and dash. F blocks. Q dashes, and the game page adds "use in stun to escape". That one line is the first thing to practice.
- Use skills and the special. Keys 1 to 4 are your character's skills and R is the special. Every character's set is different.
- Awaken with G. Awakening switches most characters to a second moveset. The wiki counts 7 "base-only" characters whose awakening is a single special move instead.
- Run and keep shift-lock on. Press W twice to run ("W+W - sprint" on the game page), or turn on Auto Run in settings. Running into an obstacle makes your character vault, climb or slide on its own. The wiki says to keep shift-lock "enabled at all times".
One change from the Halloween patch matters on day one. According to the V1.84 patch notes reprinted by Nerd's Chalk, "You no longer automatically respawn (A setting is available under [Controls] to revert the change)". If you die and nothing happens, that's why.

Free characters vs Hired Killer and Early Access
Hired Killer is the character in the game's title on Oct 29. The fan wiki says he is "currently incomplete and still in development, thus the Early Access gamepass is required to use it". Roblox listed that pass at 345 Robux on October 29. The wiki's Gamepasses page says he is the only Early Access character at the moment.
His special, Hidden Inventory, cycles three weapons on a 5-second cooldown: Split Soul Katana, Inverted Spear of Heaven, then Chain of a Thousand Miles. His passive lets him walk into enemy domains, but four characters deal 50% more damage to him inside theirs. That is a lot to learn for a first character.
Desk note: Two guide sites say Hired Killer went public: GAMES.GG ("now publicly available") and the summary at the top of the Nerd's Chalk page. The V1.84 patch notes quoted lower on that same Nerd's Chalk page say only "REGISTER HAS BEEN RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC!", and the fan wiki still lists Hired Killer behind Early Access. We go with the patch notes and the wiki. We could not check in the game.
The store has five passes for sale, per Roblox's data on Oct 29:
| Pass | Price | Changes fights, per the fan wiki? |
|---|---|---|
| Early Access | 345 Robux | Yes: unfinished characters, Hired Killer on Oct 29 |
| More Emote Slots | 175 Robux | No |
| More Build Saves | 125 Robux | No |
| Custom Kill Sound | 120 Robux | No |
| Awakening Outfits | 115 Robux | No |
All five together cost 880 Robux. The wiki says "No gamepass (other than Early Access) affects your battles." The store also lists 20 in-game products, such as "Random Emote" for 25 Robux, "10 Random Skins" for 250 and "Random Victory Flash" for 100. Those are random cosmetics, so you don't know which one you get. For games with smaller stores, see our Roblox games with few in-game purchases list.
Worth it? Early Access: Wait. It costs 345 Robux for one unfinished character, and the fan wiki says finished characters "may become free to the entire public".
- If you're new: play the free characters until blocking and dashing feel automatic.
- If you're grinding: the pass is permanent, per the wiki, so it covers every future Early Access character too.
- For parents: none of the 5 passes is needed to play, and Early Access is the only one that changes fights, per the fan wiki.
How cash works in Jujutsu Shenanigans
Cash, the wiki says, buys only emotes, skins, sodas, items, Victory Flashes, billboards and workshop slots. It never buys a character; sodas and items do something in a fight, and the rest is cosmetic or for build mode. Here is where it comes from, per the fan wiki's Shop page:
| Source | Cash |
|---|---|
| Kill in a public or ranked server | $5 |
| Daily quest | $15 each, up to $45 a day |
| Weekly quest | $100 each, up to $300 a week |
| Petting Kogane, the pet | $5, plus $1 per day in a row, up to $15 a day |
| Roulette minigame | up to $50 a round |
A soda or an item drop costs $5. A Victory Flash, the short scene after a win, costs $1000 in cash or 100 Robux, per the wiki. It changes nothing in a fight.
Desk note: Quests alone pay up to $615 a week: $45 a day for 7 days, plus $300. At that pace a $1000 Victory Flash is about 12 days of quests, which is the free route to something the wiki says also sells for 100 Robux. The same flash is 200 kills.
Codes. The game description and the Tze's Shenanigans group listed no code when we checked on Oct 29. The fan wiki says codes only come through "the update notes" in the Notebook icon on the top bar "or in the Discord Server". We could not read either, so we list none. Code lists on other sites did not come from the developer's Roblox pages; our guide to Roblox scams and fake codes shows how to spot a fake one.
Jujutsu Shenanigans codes
Last checked , from the game description and the Tze's Shenanigans group on Roblox.
Oct292026
No active codes: the developer listed none when we checked on Oct 29, 2026, 06:03 UTC.
"New" means we first saw the code on the developer's channel in the last 7 days. We copy codes from the developer and do not test them in game. No code gives free Robux. Codes for every game we track.
Where these codes come from: the game description and the developer's Roblox group, read Oct 29; the in-game notes and Discord were not readable.
The Halloween update for new players
Roblox lists the Halloween update from 21:30 UTC on October 23 to 22:00 UTC on November 23. The patch notes open with "We travelled to a different city!" and say to "Gather candies by getting kills or completing various events". You then "go through the portal to exchange them for exclusive emotes, skins and a broom item!" For dates and the Sky Assassin changes, see our Jujutsu Shenanigans Halloween update article.
Nerd's Chalk and GAMES.GG both describe the same route to the candy shop. Find the brown haunted house and walk into its graveyard yard. Step through the purple portal, cross the floating area and press E at the pumpkin-headed shopkeeper. Both list the same candy prices:
| Reward | Candies |
|---|---|
| Broom Item | 15 |
| Halloween Emotes [2026] | 100 |
| Halloween Skins [2026] | 100 |
| Halloween Emotes [2025] | 250 |
The 15-candy broom is the cheap first buy. The 2025 emotes cost two and a half times the new ones, so leave them for last. Candies can also be bought: Roblox's store data lists 100 Candies for 49 Robux, 500 for 229 and 1,000 for 449. Kills and the map events earn them for free, and the event runs to November 23.

Tips for the first week
Back off before you re-engage. The wiki says health comes back at 1 HP per second, starting 1 second after your last hit, and you move slower as health drops, down to 90% speed. Ten seconds out of a fight is about 9 HP back.
Big fights can still lag. Servers hold up to 25 players, and the Halloween patch notes say its destruction fix "should fix most lag spikes, but server size is also bigger".
Don't start with the newest character. Hired Killer got 14 additions in one patch (1 special, 6 moves and 7 variants), the opposite of a beginner pick.
Spend candies and cash on different things. The Halloween skins and emotes cost candies, not cash, so Halloween farming doesn't eat into the $1000 a Victory Flash costs.

What players are saying
On r/JujutsuShenanigans, a joke post titled "JJS players when an EARLY ACCESS character doesn't feel finished" posted on update day had 268 points and 54 comments when we read it on Oct 29 (Reddit, Oct 23). The joke is aimed at players upset that Hired Killer felt unfinished, which is what Early Access means.
One commenter liked the new Halloween map: "i think it gives more space to have shenanigans where as the old map gave space to have more fighting." (Reddit, Oct 24). Another, in a thread asking for gripes about Hired Killer, wanted two changes, with SSK meaning the Split Soul Katana: "Genuinely allow him to dash with SSK and remove the fancy uppercut and he becomes beginner friendly while still maintaining his high skill ceiling." (Reddit, Oct 25). These are single comments with 1 or 2 points, not a vote.
Our take
Play a free character and skip Early Access until Hired Killer is finished. The M1 chain, the stun dash and the block cover most of what a new player needs. Quests pay up to $615 a week, enough for a $1000 Victory Flash in under two weeks without spending Robux. The 345 Robux pass buys one character the fan wiki calls unfinished, and the patch notes released only Register to the public.
What we don't know yet: whether Hired Killer will become free when he is finished. The patch notes we could read do not say.
Our view, from the sources in this article.
How we checked this
We read the game's data, description, group, age label, store (passes and in-game products), event listing and thumbnails through a public mirror of Roblox's official APIs on October 29, 2026, and the Top Playing Now chart at 06:15 UTC that day; the store, event and chart were read again at 07:08 UTC. The peak and best rank come from ObbyDesk's own chart tracker. Controls, cash, characters and the store notes come from the Jujutsu Shenanigans fan wiki on Fandom, which is unofficial. The V1.84 patch notes and the candy shop route come from Nerd's Chalk, with GAMES.GG as a second source for the prices. Reddit comments were read through the Arctic Shift archive. We could not read the in-game notes or the Discord, and we did not play the game. All 46 sources are in our source file. Last reviewed October 29, 2026.
