Tower of Hell Roblox Guide: Gears, Mutators and Halos

TL;DR: Climb a random tower with no checkpoints before the timer runs out. Noob Towers are 6 sections and 8 minutes; Pro Towers are 12 sections and 10 minutes, per the fan wiki. Win coins, spend them on one-round gears or server-wide mutators. Halos mark big milestones. Roblox rates it Minimal, suitable for everyone. No codes on the developer's Roblox pages.

This Tower of Hell Roblox guide explains how a tower works, what coins, XP, gears and mutators do, how halos are earned, and what the store sells. Tower of Hell was 34th on Roblox's Top Playing Now list when ObbyDesk's tracker read it at 07:02 UTC on October 11, 2026, with 39,188 players.

Key Takeaways

  • Rarest badge: Certified Beast, earned by 2,125 players as of October 24, 2026.
  • Age label: Minimal, "Suitable for everyone". Codes: none on Roblox as of October 24, 2026.

Overview: what Tower of Hell is

YXceptional Studios, a Roblox group with 4,401,823 members, made Tower of Hell on June 18, 2018. Roblox files it under Obby & Platformer, as a Tower Obby, and servers hold 20 players. It had 29,241,189,086 visits and 12,081,811 favorites when we read Roblox's API on October 24, 2026, and its last update was on October 10, 2026.

The description has one more line: "Owners of VIP-Servers can use the settings menu to skip rounds, set the tower size and lock the shop." The group describes itself as "A development group where games with simple concepts are made."

Analysis: how a Tower of Hell round works

Noob and Pro towers. The fan wiki says Noob Towers "contain 6 sections and the timer for each round starts at 8 minutes long." Pro Towers "contain 12 sections and the timer lasts 10 minutes instead of 8 minutes." You reach them "by touching the white portal beneath the starting platform in noob towers".

Coins and XP. "Each noob tower can give the player up to 100 coins depending on how far they make it up the tower," and a Pro Tower up to 250, per the wiki; the Double Coins mutator "Doubles everyone's coin reward." Coins buy "gears, mutators, and effects in the shop." XP matches coins: "The XP a player gains is equal to their coins gained in a tower." One catch: "leaving a server part-way through a round will grant the player none of their earned XP." Each level gives a skill point, and "80 levels/skill points are required in order to max out the skill tree."

Gears. These are yours alone, and "The gears only last for 1 round." The wiki lists six in the shop, with Noob Tower prices: Trowel (40 coins), Speed Coil (60), Hourglass (72), Gravity Coil (80), Hook (80) and Fusion Coil (90). The Trowel "Places down paths to jump on", and the Hourglass "Freezes every moving part in every section, including conveyors." With the Hook, "You cannot climb whilst using the hook."

Mutators. "Mutators are similar to gears, but instead of applying the chosen effects for only yourself, everyone in the server experiences these effects." The wiki counts 12: "Seven of which that can be bought with coins, while the other five can be bought with Robux." Coin mutators include Extra Time ("Adds another 2 minutes to the timer", 50 coins on a Noob Tower), High Speed, Low Gravity, Foggy, Negative, Lengthen and Invincibility ("Can't die from the killparts", 500). Robux mutators include Checkpoints ("Adds a checkpoint to every other section") and Double Coins. They "expire when the current round (that the mutator was purchased in) is finished".

Effects and halos. Effects are cosmetic: "they don't provide any gameplay effect or boost like Mutators and Gears, they are purely cosmetic." Halos are special effects for milestones. Per the wiki, the Red Halo is for players who "Beat all the sections in THE Tower of Hell", the Pink Halo needs you to "Reach level 80 and unlock everything in the skill tree", and the Teal Halo means collecting every coin-box effect.

THE Tower of Hell. Added on December 13, 2024, this mode "requires the player to beat all 330 vanilla sections currently in the game, with MiniTower, Anticipation & Finish at the top," per the wiki. Beating it gives the Certified Beast badge, which Roblox showed only 2,125 players had earned as of October 24, 2026. ObbyDesk's Tower of Hell badges page lists all 9 of the game's badges from Roblox's data, refreshed daily.

Tower of Hell tips for your first towers

  1. Start on Noob Towers. Six sections, 8 minutes, and the coins still count.
  2. Stay to the end of the round. Leaving early loses that round's XP, per the wiki.
  3. Buy Extra Time first. At 50 coins on a Noob Tower, it helps everyone in the server.
  4. Pick one gear and learn it. The Trowel is the cheapest at 40 coins; the Hourglass stops moving parts.
  5. Go slowly. "I recommend going slowly and timing the jumps correctly if your new. Don't rush things!" one player advised (Reddit, May 27, 2021).
  6. Stay calm near the top. "Best tip i can give is keep calm. I always keep falling at the last courses cuz i get nervous from the fact that im just a few jumps away from beating the towers," wrote another (Reddit, Apr 19, 2024).

The store, codes and safety

What the store sells. On October 24, 2026, Roblox's data showed 3 game passes for sale: "Double Coins" (195 Robux), "Haunted Bundle" (480) and "Halloween Coils Bundle" (90). There were 21 developer products for sale, including coin packs ("200 Coins" for 9 Robux to "10K Coins" for 350), Robux mutators such as "Checkpoints" (11) and "Invisibility" (9), products named "Hook" (15) and "Hourglass" (15), "One Week Membership" (35), "One Month Membership" (120), effect stocks from 15 to 200, and "Blue Halo" (1,200). The membership description says "Members are able to buy Gears and Mutators usually only available for Robux with Coins instead."

Codes. We checked the game description and the YXceptional Studios group on October 11, 2026 and again on October 24. Neither listed a code, and the group shout was empty. The fan wiki has no codes page. The block below stays empty until the developer posts one.

Tower of Hell codes

Last checked , from the game description and the YXceptional Studios group on Roblox.

Oct242026

No active codes: the developer listed none when we checked on Oct 24, 2026.

"New" means we first saw the code on the developer's channel in the last 7 days. We copy codes from the developer and do not test them in game. No code gives free Robux. Codes for every game we track.

Safety. Roblox labels Tower of Hell Minimal, with the descriptor "Suitable for everyone". The main thing parents notice is frustration, since one slip can mean starting again. Our younger kids list includes it for that label, with the same caveat. Roblox's Parental Controls let a parent "set a monthly spending limit on how much money your child can spend on Roblox".

Our take

Pick Tower of Hell for a child who handles a fall well; skip it for one who hates losing progress. There are no checkpoints unless someone buys the Checkpoints mutator for 11 Robux, and a Noob Tower gives 8 minutes for 6 sections. XP comes only from climbing, and the cheapest helps (Extra Time at 50 coins and the Trowel at 40) cost coins, not Robux. The Robux store sells coin packs, memberships, mutators, gear-named products and a halo. Only 2,125 players had the Certified Beast badge on October 24, so THE Tower of Hell is a long-term goal. How we checked this

We read the game's data, description, group, age label, events, game passes, developer products and badges through a public mirror of Roblox's official APIs on October 11, 2026, and used ObbyDesk's reading of Roblox's Top Playing Now chart from 07:02 UTC that day. At 02:25 UTC on October 24 we read them all again; the four event listings Roblox shows for the game all ended by September 15, 2026, so no event was running. Tower sizes, timers, coins, XP, gears, mutators, effects, halos and THE Tower of Hell come from the Tower of Hell fan wiki on Fandom, which is unofficial and marked as such. Reddit comments were read in a browser and re-checked through the Arctic Shift archive on October 24. We did not play the game for this guide. All 43 sources are in our source file.
