Bee Swarm Simulator Beginner Guide: Bees, Gates and Honey

TL;DR: You start with a free Basic Egg, a Pouch and a Scooper. Collect pollen in the five starting fields, turn it into honey at your hive, and spend it on a Jar (650 honey), a Rake (800) and Basic Eggs (from 1,000). The first gate needs 5 bees; later gates need 10, 15, 20, 25 and 35. Talk to the bears for quests.

Overview: what Bee Swarm Simulator is

Bee Swarm Simulator is a Simulation game (Roblox lists the sub-genre as Incremental Simulator) made by an independent developer. Its Roblox page sums it up: "Grow your own swarm of bees, collect pollen, and make honey in Bee Swarm Simulator! Meet friendly bears, complete their quests and get rewards!" The game was created on March 21, 2018, had 4,602,829,260 visits on October 12, 2026, and was last updated on August 22, 2026. It was 42nd on Roblox's Top Playing Now chart with 29,569 players when ObbyDesk's tracker read it at 12:49 UTC that day. Servers hold 6 players.

The page also promises more as you grow: "As your hive grows larger and larger, you can explore further up the mountain. Use your bees to defeat dangerous bugs and monsters." That mountain is split by bee gates, which is why the number of bees you own matters more than anything else early on. Step by step: your first hour

  1. Claim a hive. The fan wiki says "There are 6 hives in a server", and you claim one by following a red arrow. A basic hive has 25 bee slots.
  2. Hatch your free egg. New players get a free Basic Egg, a Pouch and a Scooper. The Pouch "doesn't have a price as it is the first bag given to the player for free" and holds 200 pollen.
  3. Collect pollen. Start in Sunflower Field, one of the five starting fields with no mobs guarding it. A Basic Bee "Collects 10 pollen in 4 seconds", per the wiki.
  4. Make honey. When your bag is full, go back to your hive and convert. A Basic Bee "Makes 80 honey in 4 seconds" while converting, per the wiki.
  5. Talk to the bears. Black Bear's first quest is "Collect 100 pollen from the Sunflower Field!" Mother Bear, under the red-and-white-striped awning at the far end of Sunflower Field, teaches bee levels and treats. The wiki lists her third quest as paying 2,000 honey, 3 Treats and 2 Tickets.

What to buy first

The Noob Shop sits right next to Dandelion Field and "sells four bags, five tools", according to the fan wiki, with tools from free up to 14 thousand honey.

ItemWherePrice (fan wiki)Why
Jar (bag)Noob Shop650 honey"the cheapest Bag that can be purchased in the Noob Shop", +750 capacity

The Basic Egg price climbs as you buy: the wiki says it starts at 1,000 honey and caps at 10,000,000. Treats start at 100 honey and cap at 10,000 each. Tickets are bought with honey at the Ticket Shop, and "The price increases with every Ticket bought."

Analysis: the bee gates and the first bugs

The fan wiki's Starter Zone is "the collection of places that do not need any bee prerequisites to access". After that, every new area sits behind a gate that counts your bees:

GateBees needed
Basic Bee Gate5
Brave Bee Gate (10 Bee Gate)10
Honey Bee Gate15
Ant Gate (20 Bee Gate)20
Lion Bee Gate (25 Bee Gate)25
Windy Bee Gate (35 Bee Gate)35

That is why eggs come first. With 25 slots in a basic hive, the 35 Bee Gate is a long-term goal, not a first-day one.

Bugs. Ladybugs and Rhino Beetles are among the first mobs you meet. The wiki says both take 5 minutes to respawn after you beat them, and that a Rhino Beetle drops "about 75 Honey spread across 4 honey tokens". Ladybugs live in 2 of the 5 starting fields.

Royal Jelly. Royal Jelly changes a bee's type. The fan wiki lists one Royal Jelly at "250,000-1,000,000 Honey, 6 Tickets, or 45 Robux". You do not need it in your first hour.

Codes. The game description had no codes on October 12, 2026. The fan wiki says codes appear in the game, on the game's Roblox page and on the game's Discord server, and its newest dated code entry is from February 2026. We only list codes the developer publishes, so there is no codes table here.

Safety. Roblox labels Bee Swarm Simulator Minimal with "Violence (Occasional/Mild)", from your bees fighting bugs. Roblox's Parental Controls let a parent "set a monthly spending limit on how much money your child can spend on Roblox". What players are saying

The game still pulls players back. One returning player wrote in r/BeeSwarmSimulator: "I started playing this game again a month ago after occasionally logging in as a kid and would really appreciate some tips for how to better my hive" (Dec 22, 2025). Another post title asked: "5 days total worth of playtime has to be a good pace for diamond mask as a complete beginner right?" (r/BeeSwarmSimulator, Feb 8, 2026).

Our take

Based on Roblox's data and the fan wiki numbers above, the early game is simple: more bees open more of the mountain, and honey buys more bees. Spend your first honey on the Jar and Rake so each trip carries more pollen, then put the rest into Basic Eggs until the 5 and 10 bee gates open. Royal Jelly and Tickets can wait. Bee Swarm Simulator is a calm pick next to the chart's Halloween events; if you like slow collecting games, our Sol's RNG beginner guide covers another one.

How we checked this
