What Happened in MM2 Halloween 2026
The listing is short. It says "Halloween 2026", subtitled "A retro Halloween 🎃", with an empty description. It went live at 19:00 UTC on October 18, and Murder Mystery 2's page was last updated on October 21.
The details come from the Murder Mystery 2 fan wiki, which is unofficial. Its event page lists "1 new map, new weapon box, new Battle Pass of 30 tiers, the return of candies". The new map is Haunted House 2, a revamp of the original haunted house. Six older Halloween maps also return, from Manor to Vampire's Castle.
The lobby is the "retro" part. The wiki says it is "inspired by Murder Mystery 2's classic lobby from 2014-2018". It calls this "the 12th yearly Halloween event".

Here is how the wiki says each part works:
- Candies. You collect them "across maps during rounds (replacing coins)". The event page adds that "there are no coins that will drop during this event".
- Battle pass. Tier 1 is free. Tiers 2 to 29 cost 600 Candies each, and the Emberbow at tier 30 costs 100,000. Every odd tier from 3 to 27 gives a Halloween Key, 13 in all.
- The 2026 Halloween Box. It "costs players 600 Candies or 1 Halloween Key to open it" and holds 12 weapons. The Embergun is Legendary at 4%. The Godly Embersickle is 0.2% and the Chroma Embersickle 0.004%.
- The Cauldron. Put the Embersickle and the Emberbow in it and you get the Emberscythe, with a "low chance" of a Chroma Emberscythe.
- Quests and Bingo. There are 3 daily quests that refresh at 8:00 UTC, plus a 3x3 Bingo card of challenges.
One catch: the wiki's summary says 800 Candies a tier and 117,400 in total. Its own battle pass table says 600 a tier, which adds up to 116,800. We use the table.
Why It Matters
Halloween pushed a big game to the top of the chart. Our tracker had MM2 at #4 or #5 on Roblox's Top Playing Now chart from October 10 to 17.
Desk note: MM2 peaked at 266,256 players on October 16. On launch day it hit 947,834. On October 23 it reached 1,155,943 and took #1, and by 07:11 UTC today it had peaked at 1,293,239. That is almost five times its October 16 peak.

So what should you do with your Candies? Start with the pass. The first 27 tiers cost 15,600 Candies, and that buys 13 keys, which are 13 free boxes. The Emberbow at the end is the expensive part.
Desk note: The Embersickle is 1 in 500 boxes at 0.2%. At 600 Candies a box, that is 300,000 Candies on average. The biggest Candy pack, 200,000 Candies, costs 22,500 Robux. It still would not cover the average.
The Mortal bundle is the event's limited Robux offer. Roblox's store data shows "BUNDLE: Mortal" at 3,399 Robux, described as "Available for a LIMITED TIME!" with a Godly knife, effect and gun. The knife and gun also sell alone at 1,699 Robux each. None of it is needed for the battle pass.

Worth it? Battle pass tiers: Yes. 13 free boxes for 15,600 Candies of play, no Robux. Candy packs: Skip. One average Embersickle costs more Candies than the largest 22,500 Robux pack holds.

- If you're grinding: save for the 100,000-Candy Emberbow, then think about the Cauldron.

Players on r/MurderMystery2 have been talking about Candy per round and bots. One player says Elite is not needed for the 50-Candy cap: "pretty sure u dont need elite for 50 candies, my main and my alt dont have elite but my candies go up to 50" (Reddit, Oct 22). Play the battle pass, skip the Candy packs. Its 13 keys give you 13 box rolls for 15,600 Candies of normal play. The 0.2% Embersickle averages 300,000 Candies, more than any pack sells. The event runs to November 16, so there is no rush.
What we don't know yet: the developer has not posted the box odds or battle pass costs on Roblox, so those come from the fan wiki. We also can't say how much of the player jump is bots, which players complain about.
