Halloween badges: what to do

Two of the newest badges on Fisch's Roblox badge list name FischFright. The badge text is the developer's own to-do list. Counts were read at 12:15 UTC on Oct 21.

Desk note: In the day to 12:15 UTC Oct 21, nearly three times as many players earned Haunted Skies (62,364) as The Pumpking (21,534). One needs a full questline. The other needs you to be online when the moon turns into a jack-o-lantern.

What Happened

Fisching, the group behind Fisch, posted "FischFright 3" on Roblox with the subtitle "Limited Halloween Event". The listing reads: "Fisch's annual limited Halloween event is coming back for its third time, and it's going to be bigger and spookier than ever". It runs from 16:00 UTC on October 17 to 17:00 UTC on November 9. The game's name now ends in "[FISCHFRIGHT]", and Roblox shows it was last updated on October 19.

The listing names no content. The fan wiki, which is unofficial, fills in the map. It says the event adds "an Event-exclusive location called the Caustic Hallow, new NPCs, new Fish, new Fishing Rods, and a new Treats currency". It counts 44 fish in the FischFright 3 bestiary. Its other notes, per the wiki:

• Treats from doors. Knock and pick "Treat!" for 15 to 30 Treats, or "Trick!" for "60 Treats at a 45% chance". Lose that gamble and you drop 1,000 to 2,000 C$. Each house then has an 8-minute cooldown.
• Goblins. Every 5 minutes, 3 goblins spawn on the map and hand out small jobs that pay in ingredients.
• Beatrix's Cauldron. Ingredients go into the witch's cauldron as Hex Energy. Past 750, she pays out a reward for every 50 more.
• A deadly moat. "The body of liquid surrounding the Caustic Hallow will kill the player upon contact."
• Rituals. 11 of them, from the Hexing Ritual to the Ghoul Nessie Ritual. The Jack-o-Moon Ritual "summons a Jack-o-Moon", the event that triggers the Haunted Skies badge.

The Pumpkin King appears on the wiki's NPC list at Crook's Hallow. The wiki does not list the questline's steps yet, so we are not guessing at them.

Why It Matters

This FischFright is longer. The fan wiki dates the first two FischFrights to October 18 to November 3, in 2024 and 2025. This year's listing started a day earlier and ends six days later.

The rituals are the grind. Players on the game's subreddit say the chain is slow. On Oct 21 one wrote: "fischfright 3 has NINETEEN days left, and unless im nonstop playing this game for like 5 hours, there's no way I can get more than half of the rituals done by the end of the event." (Reddit, Oct 21). Another player held off for now after reading that "these "rituals" thing takes a LONG time" (Reddit, Oct 21).

Rods are the reward most guides chase. Roonby, a guide site, says the event "introduces six limited-time Halloween rods", and that two of them, the Dutchman's Rod and the Omniscient Spinecaster, need rituals. That fits the wiki's ritual list. It is a secondary source, so treat its stat lists as unchecked by us.

The game is still big. Fisch had 70,387 players at 12:15 UTC on Oct 21. The Fisching group has 6,176,400 members.

Our take

Start the ritual chain this week, and save the trick-or-treat doors for spare minutes. The rituals unlock one after another and players already say 19 days feels tight, while doors only cost 8 minutes of cooldown each. Chase The Pumpking if you want the rare one: 2.7% of players had it on Oct 21. For Haunted Skies, just stay in busy servers.

What we don't know yet: the Pumpkin King's quest steps, whether FischFright 3 items stay after November 9, and whether any paid item is tied to the event. The listing and the game page name none.

For parents: the label is Minimal, the only gamble we found costs in-game coins, and a spending limit covers the rest.
